Hello!  My name is Jackie McKenna and I am the owner of Modish Salon + Suites.  I have been a licensed cosmetologist since 2007. I currently live in Urbandale with my husband and three kids.

 I received my undergrad at Iowa State University in journalism…only to realize the cosmetology industry is way more fun! After independently working in my own studio for 11 years, I created and opened Modish, because I wanted to work in an environment that would inspire me… and hopefully others!

I have been in the salon industry for over 10 years and love everything about being a stylist.

Hello and thanks for looking! My name is Nicole and I’ve been behind the chair for over thirteen years now! Originally from Davenport and then Des Moines, I completed my training and first seven years behind the chair with Aveda. Since then I’ve grown and evolved into a well rounded stylist with knowledge of several brands. 

I pride myself in being a good listener and creating colors and customizing cuts for each guest. I love getting creative with short hair cutting and even fun funky colors. But I guess I’d better add that there’s no better satisfaction than shaping and blowing out beautiful long layers - there is beauty in all hair types and textures! 

Outside of the beautiful salon I now call my second home - I’m running around Grimes with two active kids. I have a younger daughter & an older son - and of course my fur babies. My husband and kids and I have lived in Florida for the past 12 years, so I am in a rebuild phase, which I’m actually so excited about. I love meeting new people and giving great services that meet your expectations.

Hi, I’m Erin Passage! I’ve been behind the chair since 2011. I started my journey in an associate program where I received extensive hands-on training in cutting, coloring, styling and the art of consultation. These lessons laid the foundation for the stylist I am today.

I grew up with a passion for art. Because of this, I believe I have a fresh eye for color. I specialize in balayage and “lived-in” hair color. I love creating a look for a client that’s both low-maintenance and grows out seamlessly. I am nationally certified with Babe hair extensions and offer four different methods; which include I-Tip, Tape-In, Fusion and Hand-Tied Wefts.
